Classic Mustangs in this condition don't come around too often, especially not ones with this model's history.

Boss 429

This 1969 Mustang Boss 429, KK NO. 1480, is currently up for auction and it's easily one of the most sought-after muscle cars in the world: more on that later. This model originally comes all the way from Tennessee where it was purchased from Bob Bales Ford in 1969.

Special Care

When you buy your dream car, you'll treat it like a baby. And, if you're buying used, then you'd hope the previous owner did the same. This Mustang's second owner kept it in a climate-controlled environment for three decades, so you know it's in good condition.

Like New

Not only has this car been meticulously maintained, but its also hardly been used. With just 14,389 miles on the clock, it looks like it's been kept in a time capsule. In fact, it's still on its original Goodyear Polyglas GT tires.

Last 820-S

Owning a 69' Mustang is owning a piece of history. But this particular model takes that idea to another level. Production paperwork suggests that this may have been the last ever Boss 429 Mustang to have the 820-S engine dropped in on the production line.

Special Engine

Having the S-code engine isn't trivial, it really is a cut above other units. It comes with magnesium valve covers, a hydraulic camshaft, and heavy-duty connecting rods with 1/2-inch bolts.

Rare

A 1969 Mustang is rare is quite rare but, with just 859 Boss 429s built, this model is much rarer. As if that wasn't enough, of the 859 units just 279 cars had the S-code engine.

Tons of Power

This engine would still put most of the cars on today's roads to shame. It produces 375 horsepower and a staggering 450 lb.-ft of torque. All of this grunt is sent through a four-speed manual transmission.

Handling

Old muscle cars don't have the best reputation for handling particularly well, but a special effort was made with this model. The 3.91 Traction-Lok differential in a nodular case rear end is there to help you along once you encounter a bend. The competition suspension with staggered rear shocks also helps to ensure this model feels composed around corners.

Highly Coveted

This Mustang is totally original and unrestored. This would add to the value of any Mustang, but when you consider that this could have been the last ever Boss 429 to get the S-code engine, it makes it that bit more special: as if we didn't want it badly enough already.

Everything You Need

This Mustang comes with everything you'd expect from such a well-maintained car: owner's manual, owner's card, and build sheet. All you need to do is come up with somewhere between $325,000-$375,000 to get it.
