Overall Impression
Clinched Flares manages to highlight everything that makes the 2018 S550 lust-worthy without adding anything that looks out of place. Not every widebody manufacturer can get this right as it only takes one misaligned fender or disproportioned ducktail spoiler to ruin the overall impression a car leaves. It’s a modern take on Bullet that looks rough, yet refined in the best possible ways.
Snarling Horses for Show and Go
This wide body kit puts the performance on steroids by allowing Clinched’s signature use of up to 345mm wide tires at the rear. If you have a car producing 700 or 800+ horsepower that needs serious grip without rubbing this is the type of modification that pays dividends on the stopwatch. Stuffing a wide tire under the fenders for big grip is part of the appeal of these kits. These guys understand the meaning of show and go.
Futuristic Speed
One of the signature aspects of the design is the front lip that wraps around the car into the side skirts. It gives a clean, consistent feeling to the bodywork that gets complimented by masculine wide front fenders and a perfectly aggressive stance. Ultimately, these lines smooth out to meet cleanly designed side skirts and massively wide rear arches. It’s a fitting design for the Mustang that looks intimidating.
All American Badass
To say this car is wide from the back is an understatement. It really does give new meaning to the term “wide body.” Often times with car design, the rear of a vehicle won’t quite match up to the front which can leave a kind of uneven feeling of symmetry or allure. Not here. This all American badass looks ready to smoke its tires in anger at a moments notice. It really does work from every angle.
