Lee Iacocca 45th Anniversary Edition Mustang Celebrates a Legend
Lee Iacocca was one of the men responsible for making the Mustang to reality in the first place, a feat this rare model pays tribute to.
Mustang Royalty
The legendary Lee Iacocca might be best known for righting the ship at Chrysler, but his best work (in our opinion) is helping develop the Mustang back in the '60s. To help commemorate that significant job, 45 special Iacocca Mustangs were built back in 2009 to mark the car's 45th anniversary.

Immaculate Example
The Iacocca Mustang you see before you is number 37 of those 45, and it's headed to Mecum's Harrisburg auction on July 31-August 3. With just 706 miles on the clock, it's also quite the immaculate example.

Smooth Operator
These special Mustangs feature a number of interesting styling cues that really smooth out the body. The most noticeable of which is that sleek fastback, which Iacocca designed himself.

Badges Galore
The interior wasn't left alone either, as it features diamond design leather seats with Iacocca embroidery stitching, as well as an Iacocca plate front and center in the dash.

All the Goodies
Other than that, the interior is basically a fully-loaded example for 2009, with comfy leather, all the power options, and even the booming Shaker stereo system.

Add Boost
Building a custom this cool without upping the power would be silly, of course. So the Iacocca Mustangs came with an optional supercharger package for the 4.6-liter V8.

Grip This
The beefed-up engine sends power back through a traditional 5-speed manual transmission to the rear Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires, which offer up plenty of grips.

Big Wheel(s)
The wheels on the Iacocca Mustang were rather large (for the time) 20-inches that was, you guessed it, designed by Iacocca himself. But they still look a lot like the traditional 5-spokes available on this gen Mustang.

Familiar Name
There's also plenty of Iacocca badging on the exterior of this Mustang, just in case somebody might not recognize it for the special ride that it is.

All-Rounder
Rounding out this tasty combination of style and speed are a Ford Racing handling package and brake upgrade. Altogether, the Iacocca Mustang is a rather nice all-rounder. But what else would you expect from something that carries that iconic name?
