1980 Mustangs weren't much different than 1979 models. A 4.2L V-8 replaced the 5.0L V-8, but it had 21 fewer horsepower. A carriage roof (see picture below) was a $625 option that gave the car a convertible look when the top was up, though a Mustang convertible wouldn't be offered until 1983.
