Classic Looks

You can never go wrong with the timeless style of the first-generation Mustang. The OG of muscle cars has an undeniable aura of power about it. But let's face it, as iconic as it looks, 1960s performance and technology doesn't quite measure up these days anymore. And that's where the secret of this gorgeous restomod lies.

Modernized

Unlike many other restomod projects that go overboard and dilute the classic character of the vehicle, this 1966 Fastback build doesn't mess with the tried and true aesthetic of the legendary Mustang. In fact, from a distance, this may not look like anything more than a well-preserved or restored Mustang with aftermarket wheels. But a closer look will reveal the beast hiding within this beauty.

All Red Everything

From the outside, the amazing paint is a quick giveaway that this isn't an average Mustang. And the 17-inch wheels do a nice job of preserving the look of the muscle car while giving it a little more of an aggressive attitude. But it's when you climb inside that things really start to get interesting. While the car looks mostly original, there are some features that indicate huge performance potential.

It Means Business

The fire extinguisher in between the front seats, the racing harness, and that big ol' roll cage aren't elements normally found inside a Mustang. With that said, the theme of keeping the original look continues here. Even the steering wheel is a classic wood-trim three-spoke. There's practically no use other than cargo for those rear seats, though. Getting past the roll cage to climb into the back would be a task and a half!

P P P P P P Power!

And that brings us to the power unit. Pop the hood and you will find the 5.8-liter supercharged V8, shades of the 2014 Shelby GT500. The restomod's Ford Racing long block V8 has been enhanced for even more output, with custom internals. All the power is transmitted to the wheels via a Tranzilla manual 6-speed, 5-inch aluminum driveshaft, and an Auburn locker 36-spline rear end.

Handles Like a Dream

And to help deal with all that power, the '66 Mustang is also equipped with A-arm suspension setup at the front and a triangulated four-link at the rear. And adjustable coilovers are in use at all four corners. Stopping power falls on the shoulders of the 14-inch Wilwood brakes. This mouth-watering package shows less than 2,500 miles, and is for sale for a sum of $102,995, for those itching to get their hands on this powerful stunner.
