eBay Find

The 1968 Mustang Shelby is one of the most legendary Shelby performance muscle cars ever. It's not at all easy to find these early Shelby gems in the used market, let alone is good condition. So when this green beauty popped up for sale on eBay, it caught our eyes immediately.

Garaged since 1985

The seller claims that this GT350 was garaged only a couple of years after it was bought in 1983, never to see the light of day again, until only recently. According to the listing, the reason why the car was put away was because of a minor accident. The owner banged the passenger side fender when pulling into a carwash. He was so frustrated by this that he chose not to drive the car anymore.

1985 Dust All Over it

Over the years, the owner kept up to date with the registration and insurance on the off chance he wanted to drive the car. The car has 82K miles on the clock and is said to be in completely original condition. The listing states it has "1985 dust all over it" and is waiting to be brought back to its glory days.

Looking for a Project?

The seller writes "I could have it running by the end of the day but I don't want to spoil the fun for a true collector who would want to be the one who hears it crank up for the first time or wash it and see the beautiful paint, that's why I have not touched it." The extent of the work needed to get the car looking and driving well is unknown, but it could be a great project for the right collector.

Cool Memorabilia

What's interesting is that the car comes with some old school memorabilia and parts as well. The seller writes "I also have the previous owners old 1984 student college ID card with a picture of how he looked back in the day on it so someone could put the face to the car that owned it back in the day, its just cool history and he left a David Bowie concert ticket in the glove box from 1984 when he played in Austin, TX, some old gas receipts and etc. Thought that was pretty cool."

Auction Ends Soon

The original 302 motor is still intact but needs some work to get it to run again. Not surprising, considering it has been sitting in a barn for decades. The eBay listing is set to expire in 2 days as of this writing. The current bid for this old Mustang is just over $78,000, but the reserve has not yet been met. If you've got a spot in your garage for this GT350, go ahead and place your bid.
