1970 Ford Mustang Grande is Impeccably Preserved
Offered as a more luxurious version of the iconic muscle car, the Mustang Grande wasn't quite as popular as Ford had hoped in its day. Nowadays, though, it's garnered a nice fandom.
A Lux Stang
Over the decades, the Mustang nameplate has become synonymous with pure American muscle. But the original pony car wasn't always entirely aimed toward a market of gearheads. In fact, early on, Ford introduced a variation of the Mustang that leaned a little more toward fanciness on the spectrum between sporty and luxury. That's right! The Mustang Grande was built from 1969 to 1973 as a more plush alternative to the otherwise brutish muscle car.

Slightly Luxurious
Though it offered slightly more opulent features than the ordinary Mustang, the Grande wasn't really a fully-fledged luxury automobile. It came with imitation wood trim on the interior, additional sound-deadening materials, and nice vinyl seats. Otherwise, it was practically identical to other versions of the car.
Niche Following
Not very surprisingly, the model wasn't quite a smash hit with the muscle car audience at the time. Over the years, though, it has gained a niche following and a bit of popularity. And when it comes to garage-kept, unrestored, original examples like the one featured here, there will always be demand.
Garage Queen
Offered up for auction at Mecum's Dallas event currently in progress, this 1970 Mustang Grande features an eye-catching Medium Lime metallic paint. The top is covered up with Houndstooth Green and Black vinyl, complementing the lighter hue, as well as the Ivy interior trim. The near-perfect Mustang shows just under 40K miles on the odometer, which makes sense given the condition of the garage queen.
