Artist creates a modernized Mustang Mach 1 design that takes some styling inspiration from the new Bronco.
Headed in the Wrong Direction
With the direction that the automotive industry is headed, it won't be long before V8-powered Mustangs will be a thing of the past. Change is inevitable. And inevitably, folks will adjust. Still, that won't completely eliminate the longing for a time when displacement had no replacement. For true petrolheads, restomodded classics will be increasingly sought-after.

Retro Revival
That's why the work of talented digital creators such as Oscar Vargas continues to be popular. The artist has revamped the looks of the 1971 Mach 1 Mustang with modern bits and pieces. It comes across on the screen as more of a retro revival than a restomod. The extensive custom updates would prove challenging for most shops and coach builders.
Modernized
The modern touches on this virtual creation include streamlined fascias at both ends. The taillights display a sleek, LED aesthetic. That's true about the headlights, as well. More significantly, though, the styling of the headlights has hints of the current Ford Bronco.
Instantly Recognizable
The round LEDs are a natural fit within the classic Mustang's face. The renders do well to add a fresh, modern vibe to the Mach 1, without taking away from its instantly recognizable character.
Automotive Satisfaction
Vargas also created a red variant of the digital model with different wheels, which he shared on Instagram. As we await news about the future of the Mustang nameplate, many purists are bracing for disappointment. For those attracted to the familiar sights and sounds of classic Mustangs, bringing to life modernized recreations such as this might be the path to automotive satisfaction.
