Flashback Friday: Classic Creations' Mach 1 Hitman Restomod

Classic Recreations is well known for reviving some of the world’s greatest muscle cars. The group’s latest project is one of the most impressive to date: John Wick’s unbelievable Ford Mustang Mach 1. And you can get it for yourself, or for your favorite wannabe-assassin, for one small fee.

A car fit for an assassin

The team at Classic Recreations begins every model with a fully restored 1969 or 1970 Mustang Mach 1 body. From there, the car’s shell is given a 5.0-liter, 32-valve Ford Coyote V-8 engine, along with a six-speed Tremec manual transmission. The result of this beautiful combination? A whopping 345 horsepower.

I’d like my custom build a bit more “custom”

Fortunately, Classic Recreations offers options with this particular resto. Among the choices: a twin-turbocharged edition that can hit a whopping 1,000 horsepower. The team can also add in several different race-worthy performance components, ranging from sway bars to six-piston Wilwood calipers, a Boss 302 intake to coilover suspension outfitted all around, and more. You also have the option to upgrade the car’s wheels to 18-inch American Racing Wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires.

What about the cabin?

While everything described thus far is tied to the look and performance of the car, it’s the interior where Classic Recreations demonstrates their real talents. The cabin area has been retrofitted with a wood-and-aluminum steering wheel and all-new 200-mph gauges. The car’s high-back Scat Elite seats come complete with five-point racing harnesses to keep the driver and passenger securely strapped in when the car is firing out 1000 horsepower. And if you want to listen to some tunes while driving to your next assassination, you can fire up the car’s wonderfully tuned JVC audio system.

How much is this going to cost me?

Well, this gets a bit tricky. You see, every Hitman is built to order. There are things like a special-edition “Wick” color scheme of Hitman Grey/Beagle Black with Custom Stripes that drivers can choose from, along with other options. The restomod shop also offers several choices when it comes to customizations, including engines, tires, even an automatic gearbox if driving a car manual isn’t your thing. But if you’re looking for a general price range, you can expect to pay upwards of $170,000 for one of these beauties.

Can you tell me a bit more about Classic Recreations?

The Oklahoma-based garage is well known for the 815-hp '69 Mustang Boss and '68 Mustang "Villain" cars, along with its restomodding efforts of the Shelby GT500CR and Shelby GT350CR Classic Mustangs. The company always starts with an already amazing ride, then takes the time to retrofit modern features like fuel injection, rack-and-pinion steering, race-inspired suspension, track-ready disc brakes, and more, to give classic cars a more modern twist. You can learn more about them at https://www.classic-recreations.com/.
