Ford's Supercharged 800-HP Package For the Mustang Reappears
A quietly uploaded listing in Ford’s Custom Garage reveals the FP800S Bronze Magneride Package, an 800-hp supercharged Mustang kit that appears closer to production than ever.
The Return of an 800-HP Idea
Ford’s pursuit of an 800-horsepower Mustang upgrade has resurfaced after nearly a year of silence. The original FP800S concept debuted at the 2023 SEMA Show, where it showcased a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger mounted to the 5.0-liter Coyote V8, pushing output to roughly 800 hp. After SEMA, the project effectively disappeared, overshadowed in part by the launch of the Mustang GTD. The reappearance of a related configuration, the FP800S Bronze Magneride Package, on Ford’s Custom Garage site marks the first substantial sign that the upgrade may finally be preparing to reach customers.
What Ford Quietly Posted
Without a press release or public announcement, Ford added the FP800S Bronze Magneride Package to its customer-facing configurator. Though still labeled a “concept,” the listing includes full details of the hardware, design additions, and interior changes. Its presence on a retail platform strongly suggests Ford is laying the groundwork for an eventual production offering, though the company has yet to confirm timing.
Core Components Under the Hood
Like the earlier FP800S concept, the Bronze Magneride setup centers on the 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger system. Paired with the Coyote V8, the combination is once again expected to produce approximately 800 hp. Supporting upgrades include an air/oil separator, stronger half shafts, and a “street” lowering kit. Ford also bundles a ProCal tool to recalibrate the speedometer after installation.
Bronze-Infused Exterior Changes
The distinguishing feature of this new variant is its bronze theme. The car receives 19-inch R1 forged wheels finished with bronze accents, matching bronze lug nuts, bronze exterior graphics, and bronze inserts inside the grille. Several functional pieces join the look: wheel spats, a front splitter, upgraded hood vents, and carbon-fiber mirror caps. A carbon fiber Dark Horse spoiler completes the package.
Interior With Subtle Customization
Inside, Ford avoids overusing the bronze accents and instead focuses on small specialty details. Recaro buckets with Ford Performance logos anchor the cabin, accompanied by a model-specific FP800S dash badge. The kit also includes an FP800S keychain that mirrors the interior branding.
Factory-Backed—and Warranty-Friendly
Ford has emphasized that the FP800S Bronze Magneride Package is a fully factory-engineered effort. According to Ford’s description, the upgrade is designed so that owners can retain their warranty, an important distinction compared to many high-power aftermarket supercharger kits.
Pricing Still a Mystery
Ford has not disclosed pricing or an availability timeline. With a supercharger, carbon-fiber exterior components, upgraded suspension, and drivetrain enhancements, the kit is unlikely to land in the “appearance package” range. Some context exists: Ford already offers a Sinister Bronze appearance package for the Bronco priced at $5,200—but that kit contains no performance hardware. Any Mustang package that includes an 800-hp blower will likely cost significantly more. As one report put it, “we expect those looking to add this new Mustang package to pay at least double that.”
Why This Matters Now
The original FP800S concept seemed destined to remain a SEMA curiosity. Its sudden reappearance, paired with an online configurator listing rather than a show-floor prototype, suggests Ford is inching closer to turning the idea into a purchasable factory upgrade. For those who remember the initial supercharged show car and wondered whether it would ever materialize, this quiet digital debut is the clearest indication yet.
