Here's What a Widebody 2020 GT500 Would Look Like
It might be a while before we see anyone cut up their new GT500, so here's a sneak peek at what that might look like.
Styling Exercise
The 2020 Shelby GT500 is still in high demand, and some folks are just taking deliveries of their new snakes. At the same time, these cars are still being sold with healthy markups. So it's not likely that we'll see one heavily modified anytime soon. Thus, these renderings from artist Timothy Adry Emmanuel are one way to imagine just what a wild, widebodied GT500 might look like, and it's not bad, we'd say.

Breathe Easy
There are a lot of interesting things going on here besides those wider fenders, of course. For starters, how about that drilled hood, which presumably allows the supercharged 5.2-liter Predator V8 to cool off a little easier? It's also obvious that the front lip has been extended to match the width of those crazy fenders for a nice look.

Out Back
Out back, the visual impact of the new fenders leaves quite the impression, as does a newly designed rear spoiler that sports a clear piece in the center - a look that's all the rage in the aftermarket these days. Otherwise, the back of the GT500 looks pretty much stock.

Interesting Take
The car has also been slammed to the ground over a set of visually interesting wheels that clearly pay homage to the Magnum style pieces that muscle car fans have long been fans of. We're not so sure about the fact that they're chrome, but they don't necessarily look offensive in this case, at the very least.

Fresh Take
Throw on a set of redline tires, and you've got a car that attempts to take the new GT500's modern retro theme to the next level. The end result is undoubtedly interesting but is sure to divide enthusiasts. Some will love it, others might hate it. But we always appreciate a fresh take on what's sure to be a modern classic.
