Some choice components from Bavaria has allowed Loder1899 to give the Mustang some more design edge - and better driving dynamics.

German touches for the Pony car

Ford's sixth-generation Mustang is the all-American Pony car. Affordable and rewarding to drive, it has an excellent balance of performance-per-dollar. But what if you seek a touch more distinction? Well, then you wish to have aftermarket customization. And this new Loder1899 Mustang is a German interpretation of what a modern Pony car should be. 

Premium parts for your Mustang

The Loder1899 upgrade kit is anchored by some aerodynamic bits and new wheels. Loder1899 is based in Unterumbach, which is located in the German state of Bavaria. Automotive suppliers abound in Bavaria, which allows Loder1899 to source excellent upgrade parts. The company's offering for Ford's Mustang, is no exception. 

Intricate new front splitter design

Mustang followers will notice that the Loder1899 car has a different appearance in respect of its front bumper assembly. For $893, Loder1899 adds an eight-piece front splitter, which edges around the lower bumper section. This gives the Mustang a more geometric styling balance and slightly improved airflow properties. 

Klassik wheels - literally

The other anchor feature of this Loder1899 Mustang, roll it along. Loder1899 has replaced the factory Mustang wheels with its own Klassik B 20-inch alloys. They have a classic telephone-dial design, with eight opening and are sized 9.5x20. To ensure an appropriate colorway, the Klassik B wheels are matte black, with contrasting brass rivets on the rim surround. 

Balancing airflow at the rear

Beyond the front splitter and those Klassik B wheels, the Loder1899 Mustang also has some upgrades at the rear. For $1340, Loder1899 will add a rear wing which balances the properties of that complicated front splitter. Made from sintered carbon, this rear wing only weighs 3.3lb and will add a touch more downforce to the Mustang's aft axle at speed. 

 

An airfoil to give you the edge

The Loder1899 wing has been specifically angled to be the best possible compromise between downforce and drag. Loder1899's technicians did not want to have too much of the latter and too little of the former. Using the Mustang's overall profile as a guide, Loder1899 carefully considered options, before choosing the best German aftermarket wing option available. 

Expensive hoops complete the look

The Loder1899's design upgrade is defined by those wheels - and they don't come cheap. Sourcing limited edition wheels mean low production volumes, which require higher margins. Therefore, the price of the Loder1899 Mustang's Klassik B wheels cost a rather substantial $772 a piece. 

Sounds better - rides lower

Beyond the Loder1899 Mustang's styling improvements, the German tuner is also offering some performance upgrades. If you'd like the 5-liter V8 engine sounding a bit throatier, Loder1899 has an active stainless steel exhaust system. It features a variable valve, which triggers at full throttle openings, allowing for a more powerful sound signature. Making the Mustang a bit more agile and stable, are lowering springs, which drop the Loder1899 car by 0.98-inch at the front axle and 0.79-inches at the rear. By lowering its center of gravity, Loder1899 reduces the Mustang's body roll at high cornering speeds.
