1970 Shelby GT500 Fastback

The pristine 1970 Shelby Mustang GT500 Fastback pictured above is going up at auction soon. If you've been saying you'd like a classic Mustang for a while, this could make you put your money where your mouth is. This car has 44,000 miles ok the clock and is one of just 789 Shelby Mustangs produced for 1970.

Drag Pack

This model comes fitted with its original drag pack. So it has a 3.91:1 Traction-Lok rear end which should help to keep things somewhat in check when you put your foot down at the lights.

Shelby

This model was signed by Carroll Shelby himself, and it comes with its original build sheet and dealer invoice with handwritten Shelby factory notes. It's known ownership history is also listed in the Shelby Registry.

Restoration

As you've probably guessed by now, this car has undergone an extensive restoration: it took over 1,000 hours. This Concours frame-off nut and bolt restoration was completed by Darryl's Auto Specialties in Holcomb, New York.

Drivetrain

Under the hood sits this car's original 428 ci Cobra Jet engine which was rebuilt, balanced and blueprinted in 2010. It has a Holley 4-barrel carburetor and its original manifolds and heads. All of its power is sent through a C6 automatic transmission.

Style

Originally this Mustang was finished in Factory Black Jade, but it's currently finished in Deltron Calypso Coral. Its tinted glass fits in perfectly with the model's paint job.

Interior

Open the door and you'll be greeted by an immaculate White Clarion-Knit vinyl interior. This GT500 also comes with deluxe belts.

Wheels

Completing the look are four Shelby Magstar wheels. These rims are wrapped by Coker reproduction Goodyear F60-15 Polyglas tires.
