Fastback Time

eBay and its ocean of users have given us some fascinating vehicle listings over the years. Often, they're tricky propositions like this long-abandoned beauty. This 1965 Ford Mustang is listed by user jasper10354, who has the car up with an asking price set at $21,000. It's not an auction and there is no option to make an offer, either. So it's $21K or bust.

GT

Before we dive into the condition of the vehicle, let's talk a bit about what makes it a desirable restoration candidate. Aside from the obvious, (namely the fastback body style) this '65 pony car is an A-Code example. It is powered by the sought-after 4-barrel 289 V8 engine. That motor is paired with a 4-speed transmission for a sporty combo.

Performance-Oriented

Having the GT Equipment Package, this Mustang also comes with special GT gauges, which are geared toward high-performance driving. The interior looks rather shabby, showing the poor conditions it's been sitting in for the past several years. But the bones are reportedly in decent shape.

289 Under the Hood

The seller indicates the underbody is "very solid." There are a number of photos in the listing to demonstrate the condition of the undercarriage. Still, any prospective buyers are advised to confirm the details in person if possible. Speaking of which, the original 289 motor still lives under the hood of this Mustang, and the seller claims it even turns over!

Begging to be Rescued

This classic Mustang is practically begging to be rescued. Given the desirable nature of this particular model, and the fact that it's perceived to be all original, this car would be a great subject for a restoration project. For an enthusiast with a slew of resources at their disposal, the price of entry for this potential future project is currently set at $21,000.
