Bullitt (1968)

The relationship between Bullitt and the Mustang is as legendary as both the movie and the pony car. Widely regarded as one of the most famous car movies ever, Bullitt features two of the most iconic car movie superstars the world has ever seen: Steve McQueen and his green Ford Mustang Fastback. Decades later, Ford paid homage to this memorable Mustang by creating a special edition Mustang Bullitt, and giving it arguably the best exhaust sound design of any V8-powered muscle car ever.

Gone In 60 Seconds (1974 and 2000)

Another hard-to-forget movie franchise in which a Mustang takes center stage, Gone in 60 Seconds was a 1974 flick that features a yellow '73 Mustang Mach 1 named Eleanor. When the movie was brought back in 2000 with Nick Cage playing the main character, a new Eleanor was designed by Steve Stanford and Chip Foose. This time, it's a 1967 Fastback Shelby GT500. Five of these beautiful beasts were built for the movie, and they're all reportedly still in circulation.

Need For Speed (2014)

The ultra-popular street racing video game series was given some shine on the big screen when Aaron Paul of Breaking Bad fame took the starring role in the Need For Speed movie in 2014. His co-star is this special Ford Mustang, which the protagonist drives heroically during his journey in the storyline.

John Wick and John Wick: Chapter 2 (2014 and 2017)

The John Wick series of films is known for its extreme and frequent displays of violence courtesy of the main character, played by the venerable Keanu Reeves. But no badass action movie hero is complete without an equally badass car that captures their essence. And John Wick is no different. That's why he's synonymous with his gorgeous 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1.

I Am Legend (2007)

With an interesting take on a post-apocalyptic, zombie-infested world, I Am Legend chronicles the journey of a man who finds himself alone and fighting zombies and mother nature on a daily basis to survive. His only consistent company is his dog and this red Mustang Shelby GT500 when roaming the city's abandoned streets. And it looks and sounds as good as you'd expect on the big screen.
