9.22.05: Vinyl Door Sill Inserts

My wife Bridget was so excited when these arrived that she asked if she could install them. I agreed on one condition: that she write the review. So here it is, in Bridget's words:

I really like them; I think they add a lot of personality. They make "MUSTANG" on the door sills stand out much better. In fact, the letters are barely noticeable without them.

The decals were really very easy to install. You need to be sure to get the letters on the sill place really clean because any little bit of dust or dirt will cause bumps. The directions say wet the letters. This means wet the letters on the panel of the car not the sticker letters. I found it to be very effective to fill the indentions up with water and use your finger and a pair of small point tweezers. Let the sticker float in the water and get it in place by moving it with the tweezers. Then hold it down with the tweezers and using a paper towel, absorb some of the water out. The letter should be stuck down and you can continue to the follow the directions and run over the letters with your finger wrapped in a paper towel. You need to be sure to press on the letters when running over it with the paper towel so that the letters end up smooth but be sure not to slide the letters.

When going over letters with the hairdryer, I recommend putting your finger by the letter, so that you can feel when the plate starts to get too hot. When the letters are still hot from the hairdryer you can use the tweezers again to push or pull at the letters where it might not fit just like you want it.

Overall, I think this product is great. It adds a lot for a small amount of money. I think it is important to know that this product comes in several different colors and will fit any 2005+ Mustang, not just cars with IUP.
